A Stranger!

A Stranger!

Went to a place, filled with strangers,
Nobody knows me, and people without words,
Ocean so quiet doesn't even talks,
Winds thou chilled, roads so lost,

I took a walk with a silent street,
My feet’s yet cold and want no walk,
My hands in hairs, making waves inside,
And eyes bit closed, with feelings in hide,

My sight yet travelled making sound of words,
A sound of love; a signal for trust,
That made me a path we together walked,
To the home of love where hearts were locked

Happy Independence Day

Its 1:00 at night, and I'm out of my house
To search my soul, to see my own
I find few people chanting some slogans
They want their rights, they want some more
They holded flags, with no green and star
I wait and stood, to see their zeal
But all the time, never got a feel,
That they have least found their soul, and they are not really at foul

I moved few steps and saw some teens
All moved me seems
The rush in blood was clearly seen
with speeding bikes, with loudly crackers
and some were really trouble makers
They had no esteem, to admire today
Alas! I have to move away

I took some steps, can see a fleet
of child and women who sleep on street
I took a seat very near to a child
Who has to weep, who cannot sleep
He has no home, he has no food
and he was cursing all those who stood
I handed him few coins to pay
But he never saw a toy to play

I reached my house with thoughts so blank
The place was clean, the place was neat
My room, my food and lot I have
My house is sweet, but home all messed
I wished I clean and keep it safe
From all people who are self-obsessed
So yet again we all rejoice
And let this nation hear one voice

Where is my patience?

Living in a city of Karachi, is like living on a time bomb that ticks off your patience level on very quick intervals. Yes, “patience” is the word that seems to be missing from our dictionary. We eat fast, we move fast, and if we have an option we may start sleeping fast.

Ever imagined what are the common things that irritate us most? A slow moving car blocking our way, a lift that stops on every floor, a screaming child who may be in pain, an irritated shopkeeper or your co-worker or a beggar who is continuously knocking on your car window even after your deadly looks? Whatever be; the factors that cause impatience and irritation within us are caused by almost same kind of behavior or action.

Have we ever analyzed the possible reason of being impatient as soon as we get out of this phase of temporary abnormality? What has actually caused this? Why I am getting irritated? And what can I gain out of it in my life? Rarely

From an Islamic perspective; Allah has dedicated one complete Surah in Quran on this subject. Surah-e-Asr that teaches success with patience, equally, with good deeds and preaching Rights.

So we can say that getting impatient or catching irritation very often is a human deficiency? Answer can be yes! A medical definition of impatience can be a brain's chemical reaction that happens when a body tries to move with the speed of mind, ignoring the environmental constraints. And this applies to everything, starting from daily life pity problems, to lifetime bad experiences. We need to think with our limitations and equally analyze the reactions that may occur if we try to cross our limitations. Making it a habit is difficult but using this trick can do wonders with your personality. The idea is to make this logic part of your unconscious mind, and that surely needs lots of practice.

Another factor of impatience is tied up with your level of anger and your level of expectations. Keep both of them low and your life will flow, in a perfect direction. Surely a greatest wrestler is the one who can control anger well.

With this computer age, the mind surely is moving much faster than it was couple of decades back. The age of computer has helped mind take jumps to conclude a problem. Therefore, a kind of complexity enters our mind when the problem is tied up both with your brain and body. Mind reaches to a solution much faster than your body, and while in the course of exceeding our physical limitation we catch irritation.

A good example is a sleeping body and sleeping mind; a state when a person can never get impatient, until and unless one is having a bad dream or a nightmare.

May you have a day full of life today and forever!

Childhood - Freedom of thoughts!

I can say blue color, green. I can even call cat, a cow. I can shit in my pants, and I can even jump on my bed so high that I would want to touch the ceiling. Do I really care about it, no! Do I really care about falling down from my bed! No! And this is what we call, freedom of ideas and actions; “A childhood”.

The message that always comes across is “I am not bounded! And I care least if you care about imposing these bindings and restrictions on me”.

Restrictions that always come in a form of; don’t do this and don’t do that. This is not right and this you should dare not try to do again! How many times I have told you not to do this and that! And so on, the list cannot be exhausted here.

A child brain is an un-programmed machine with all the open conditions/ statements. All true and false conditions are programmed by the us as adults. When we restrict a child, it would mean that condition is being declared false, and the code within this condition will never get executed. So we are actually binding them with our own ideology and their freedom to think big and unique. On top of it the dumb 30 x 30 inch machine, the only thing that we can listen to (with 100% focus and attention) makes a toping of corrupted programs and bad variables part of their brain algorithm. And the exposure to this talking devices to child is only to get rid of these small, cute creatures for some moments of your day.

I believe lateral thinking, an indirect and creative approach of thought process, is something that happens with the child for the initial 3-4 years. Soon, after we start programming a child, with institutes and devices around us the questions of 4+ year child start to become more logical. It’s the diversion age where the child thought process becomes more of a logic and reasoning based. And we as parents are relieved, “Thanks God! He has now stop asking me weird questions, and now sounds more logical”.

We as adults should start thinking now, where we should start drawing this logical line. There are few things where we as adults should let the child do and not impose our conditional statements; let the child think on this own, let them think big, let them find the answers of weird queries, and most importantly, let them make the most out of their life!

Programming Ourselves

A human being by nature is short sighted creature. Though we are called “Ashraf-ul-Makhluqaat” but there is nothing exceptional that can really allow us to give such a privilege. Still, there are few of us who do come up to this expectation.
We as software engineers and computer gurus are always in a pursuit to make computer do things what we actually want it to do for us. Starting from creation of robots and clones till the first step on the moon, a human mind has been inventing new machines and exploring new technology with such rapid space that has no comparison.
Still, don’t we feel that we are always short on time, always craving for more time, wealth, food and clothes? We have invented cars and planes, but yet we are not able to create space for us. The truth is that we have created new machines and programmed them to suit us but as a reverse reaction these things have un-programmed the human codes and have disturbed our own wirings. As Newton third law of motion says; “for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction”. So this reaction is bit drastic on human nature. We live for commercial things that always revolve around us. We make an effort to have the new technology part of our lives, but we actually put to stake our own selves in achieving it. We become more restless, more aggressive and more annoyed on our way to these short sighted goals. The ease in turn that the luxury may offer us is much lesser than our efforts to achieve it.
Question; if we can make such an effort to program these machines, then why can’t we make an effort to correctly re-program ourselves. Why can’t we be more disciplined; more organized; more future sighted; and more persistent? In early days our parents used to tell us “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Our inner self knows and can distinguish between the right and wrong for us; then why are we always attracted towards negative short sighted goals, that has least impact on our overall life ideaology. Why aren’t basic principles correctly programmed in our brains, or easily get corrupted? Why don’t we set any long term goals for us that may be for this life and after life? Why do we lack faith? Why?
Think human beings, think!!

Lessons from Sports Day!

With nation struggling to look for peace, unity and discipline I believe this can be one of the most learned experience for any individual who was attending this event. Surely one of the memorable events for me, I was attending the sports day of my 9 year old child at Habib Girls School. It started off dot on time, and though initially I felt like sitting bored, but very soon I felt the time machine working on me, getting me back to my school days. Soon the event started off and it was simply amazing to see such a presentation from these kids.
It started off with the national anthem, and we were asked to rise on this occasion. The rise was random and it seemed that few people found difficult to give such pride to the anthem. It started off with great enthusiasm but only from the kids. Most of the parents were struggling with the right recitation that was surely a sign of pity for us. If one can call back the words of our national anthem and its meanings then these are simply amazing. It has really great depth. The first line says “Blessed be the sacred land” and it ends with “Symbol of Almighty’s protection”. And between these two lines, all praises for such united, disciplined and brotherly nation. I wished we can invent a device to transfer true meaning of our anthem into our brains and hearts forever.
Qirat of Surah-e-Fatiha both in Arabic and English was then performed. The English version really made me realized if we really seek for such mercy and guidance from Allah 5 time a day. And still it never seems to work on us; surely a sign of dooms day.
The initial parade and drum presentation were simply amazing. The effort of two months of practice was really showing off in the form of huge applauds that student’s received after this part. The timing and synchronization was excellent. I thought if we as a nation can be so synchronized in our thoughts, then we can really change the complete outlook of this nation.
It was then the ground presentation and kids ranging from 9-11 years displayed a unique show of aligning into different shapes. The first one was of unity, being the theme of the day. Second it was school’s name, and then it was a smiley face to greet and face all the difficulties with smile. Last presentation was stopping one at red light of traffic signal; the message being that we at school teach children where to stop and where to sprint in this road of life. It was simply an amazing exhibition of basic level concepts with such simplicity.
The sprint, relay and skipping races then started and it was a real display of true spirit and enthusiasm from kids. In sack and skipping race I can see children falling down on the ground, gathering themselves again, running again, and struggling hard to cross the finish line. It was really a good lesson for us as adults. There are only three persons whom can come first second and third, but all that matters for others was getting to the finish line. And we never want to get to the finish line, until we are one of the three people.
The end was very unique and an expected one. Just when the last speech was started by the special guest, people started leaving there seats, creating a complete commotion on the ground. Ah! That was expected.
I really hope that we as adults go back in past, and extract some basics learning methods, that can help us in serving a much better individual, contributing positively for our dear homeland.
Godspeed Pakistan!
