Programming Ourselves

A human being by nature is short sighted creature. Though we are called “Ashraf-ul-Makhluqaat” but there is nothing exceptional that can really allow us to give such a privilege. Still, there are few of us who do come up to this expectation.
We as software engineers and computer gurus are always in a pursuit to make computer do things what we actually want it to do for us. Starting from creation of robots and clones till the first step on the moon, a human mind has been inventing new machines and exploring new technology with such rapid space that has no comparison.
Still, don’t we feel that we are always short on time, always craving for more time, wealth, food and clothes? We have invented cars and planes, but yet we are not able to create space for us. The truth is that we have created new machines and programmed them to suit us but as a reverse reaction these things have un-programmed the human codes and have disturbed our own wirings. As Newton third law of motion says; “for every action there is an equal but opposite reaction”. So this reaction is bit drastic on human nature. We live for commercial things that always revolve around us. We make an effort to have the new technology part of our lives, but we actually put to stake our own selves in achieving it. We become more restless, more aggressive and more annoyed on our way to these short sighted goals. The ease in turn that the luxury may offer us is much lesser than our efforts to achieve it.
Question; if we can make such an effort to program these machines, then why can’t we make an effort to correctly re-program ourselves. Why can’t we be more disciplined; more organized; more future sighted; and more persistent? In early days our parents used to tell us “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise”. Our inner self knows and can distinguish between the right and wrong for us; then why are we always attracted towards negative short sighted goals, that has least impact on our overall life ideaology. Why aren’t basic principles correctly programmed in our brains, or easily get corrupted? Why don’t we set any long term goals for us that may be for this life and after life? Why do we lack faith? Why?
Think human beings, think!!

  1. Well-said! However the question, as you rightly put, is WHY? Is this just because of lack of faith or may be we dont give faith any importance to begin with?!? I think our problem is not 'knowing little' (about what is right and wrong) but not practicing what we already know. Dont we know that controlling our Nafs-e-Ammara (carnal soul) is the key to a blissful life in both worlds? Only if we start practicing what we know is for our benefit in this world and the after (taught by our religion), I am sure we can get rid of the corruption that has occurred in our programming :)

    Wasalam.

  2. Nicely written, but the fact is humans are most complicated machines ever designed with lose coupled integration model and open interfaces :D

Religion is the only protection against all rouge intrusions that penetrate through "wireless networks"

Alas! the religion as we practice today lack an integral part that is "Faith", we are only trained for "Rituals" creating a loophole in security infrastructure.

the answer to all why's, because rituals cannot make us follow Faith, but it is the faith that should drive rituals.

Bottom line, look for good programmers and get the get the coding right for next generation. Don't program for ritual's. Program Faith and ritual's will be the by product.

    On a lighter note
shall we look for a middleware instead of programmers?

  3. @ Mujtaba: Rightly said, it is the next generation of ours that can only come to this level. But again it is us (corrupted programs) whom have to write or create a new clean programs with all logics in place. It is the ripple effect from generation to generation that my make our suffering larger and bigger. If we start this effort then it may take few more generations to get the code fixed :)
